My first earth healing lesson was delivered to me in a dream:
I was in Palestine, driving through the streets of a town.
There was general unease, tension, a sharp buzz in the streets.
I got out of the car, and started walking toward a big tree.
As I stood infront of the tree, my heart seemed to expand, taking me down into the roots
and then up to the tree top by the sheer power emanating from it.
The tree was thankful and a sense of peace expanded around the tree and the nearby street.
Upon awakening I knew I had been given a clue for working with the land
in a way that can have a positive effect on the people living on it.
I had initially gone to college to study human ecology. I took marine conservation classes at College of the Atlantic in Maine, but as we sailed off the shores of that magical Mount Desert Island in the school’s research boat I realised I was more interested in diving into my own waters than recording the salinity of the ocean. So I went on to study energy healing modalities. Learning how to sense into invisible realms, scanning a person’s energy body and summoning ‘lightning’ through my hands to melt steel hard pain, blocks and distortions in their memory body. The Tree dream made it clear to me that I could also tap into invisible structure of the land and use my healing tools to practise human ecology as I had originally wanted. This path led me to study Env. Healing and Space Clearing with Liora Gil, a gifted healer who was drawing upon North African Jewish tradition to teach us how to work with earth energies that have noxious affect on people’s living space, how to assist earth bound spirits, to listen to the elemental world, and so on. It is always a privilege to work in people’s homes and gardens, acting as a bridge between their needs and the needs of the land. I have found time and time again that clients will often say they are not at all sensitive to these things but then proceed to describe the problem areas accurately and respond to the expansion and sense of Grace that fills their house when the work is done.
